“Don’t expect us to know what you don’t tell us” This was from comments by Senator Billy Hewes, President Pro-Tem of the MS Senate who gave a very supportive talk at the MS Healthcare Alliance meeting this weekend regarding our efforts to undertake a statewide D2B initiative. This emphasizes the importance of establishing and maintaining relationships with state and national legislators.  There are basically two ways to accomplish this:     1.    Personally contact elected officials     2.    Donate to ACC PAC. Both are very important.  The time to contact your legislator varies but there is no better time to donate to ACC PAC. Especially with  upcoming elections and the hope we can modify the Healthcare Act to prevent compromising the high quality and access to care that currently benefits our patients. While we have different practice perspectives we will all be negatively impacted in varying degrees by the Healthcare Act and few of those changes will be beneficial to patient’s access to our services or to our practices in general. Please donate to the ACC PAC by logging on to Cardiosource or ACC website under “advocacy”.  It is important for every member of our state chapter to make a donation at any level but please do something to show your support.  Please do so today.
